In the penguin’s path
09:00 hrs

Montt, in a private ground transport, to the island of Chiloe, boarding
a car ferry to cross the Chacao Channel. While ferrying, we could see
sea lions, penguins, and dolphins swiming arround . At mid-day we will
arrive to Ancud city and lunch in a typical restaurant. We will visit
places that show Chilota culture and history. In the afternoon we will
visit penguins and other bird colonies, enjoying a place of incredible
beauty. Later we will visit a family farm and enjoy a traditional island
dinner and sleep.
Day 2 (by land)
Discovering the history of Chiloe
After a fantastic farm breakfast, we will continue our exploration of
Chiloe visiting one of the 16 Chilota churches designated as world heritage
sites by UNESCO. At mid-day we will arrive at the city of Dalcahue.
After lunch, we will visit one of the most traditional handicraft stores
in Chiloé and then continue in the afternoon to Castro, visiting important
sites on the island’s largest city . At night we will arrive at the
Quinched yacht club where we will enjoy a pleasant dinner and relax
before the next day’s sail.

Sailing history and chilote’s islander customs
We will weigh anchor in the morning sailing the "Atrapasueños"
to explore life and customs of people who live in the small islands
in the archipelago of Chauques. In the afternoon we will arrive at the
peaceful country town of Tenaun. We will enjoy a special dinner and
spend the night in an agroturism inn.
Day 4 (sailing)
From the islands to the fjords…
In the morning we will weigh anchor sailing approximately 3 hours to
Mechuque island, viewing historic palafitos (on sticks houses) and learning
about the life of the sailors of Chiloe.
We will lunch with a special family who will share with us much of the
history of the mythical island of Mechuque. After lunch we will go for
a postprandial stroll around the town enjoying the beautiful panoramic
view of the archipelago. We also will learn about the geological history.
In the afternoon we will weigh anchor to cross the Gulf of Ancud sailing
to the fjords area.
Day 5 (sailing)
Pumalin Park, thermal springs and something more…
We will wake up surrounded by mountains with unique and indescribable
vegetation…in the heart of the Pumalin Park, the private 650.000 acres
park of North American magnate Douglas Tompkins. We will enjoy bathing
in hot springs and a walk in an unforgetable primeval forest, finishing
the day with the feeling that we are in another reality...
Day 6 (by yacht and land)
From the flords to civilization (Hornopiren and Austral road)
Our day will begin visiting another special place that could be another
fjord or thermal spring. Later we will return to our yacht to enjoy
breakfast while sailing to Hornopirén (or Rio Negro) our last reach
